Operation:
The machine is fully automatic, PLC controlled with auto
loading and unloading stations. The machine is well equipped
with all inter locks to safe guard the operation.
The
surface roughness achieved after superfinishing is in the
range of 0.02 to 0.05 micron Ra with the stock removal of
0.002 to 0.003 mm on diameter. The media used to superfinish
the rods are superfinishing stones. The greatest advantage
of using stone superfinishing over other media is its
unbelievable low operating cost per component.
The
hyperbolic feed rollers ensure the accurate feeding of
piston rods to various superfinishing stations. The rod has
to pass through 12 superfinishing stations where stones from
rough to polishing are installed. Auto lift mechanism
ensures the lifting of stones at the threaded portion of
Piston rods. Apart from improving surface roughness, it also
increases bearing contact area and roundness, which ensures
perfect sealing.
